Professionally, I am a licensed Social worker with over 9 years of experience. All of my degrees, as well as my PhD are in Social work. I currently teach on the University level full time. However, this blog is not about who I am professionally, it is about who I am as a woman of God. I am a single mom to a beautiful & vibrant 9 year old, in my thirties, and on an amazing journey with the Lord. I have been through a lot of things in my life and through the grace of God; I have accomplished many things as well. However, what I have learned and continue to learn is just how much God loves me! I have finally yielded to God’s will for my life and he has shown me so many things, mostly about his love.
Through my personal challenges and my professional experiences, God has ignited a passion in my heart for women issues. I have encountered so many hurting women and I can relate to them in many ways. I believe as women, we face a unique set of obstacles and struggles and God cares about each and every one of them. The beautiful thing about it is he has given us everything we need to be victorious in every area of our life. I believe God’s grace is more than just unmerited favor. His grace empowers me; it gives me the strength, wisdom, and ability to be all that he has called me to be as well as do all he expects of me. His grace frees me from the expectation of perfection and positions me to completely and entirely depend on and trust in Him – now that is freedom!
So, the purpose of my blog is to share/journal my walk with the lord, create a safe environment to
explore and discuss the issues women face, and connect with women from all walks of life to share our unique and interesting perspectives. We are Women of God, we are his Beloved, and we are Gracefully Empowered.
